Idaho Falls River Walk - Greenbelt Trail

Welcome to the Idaho Falls River Walk, a spectacular way to see and explore the things that makes Idaho Falls unique. Covering 5 miles on both sides of the Snake River it is a joint project of the city and its residents spearheaded by the Idaho Falls Rotary Club whose annual Great Snake River Duck Race provides additional funds for expansion and improvement of the project. Idaho Falls Greenbelt Loop is a 17.1 kilometer heavily trafficked loop trail located near Idaho Falls, Idaho that features a waterfall and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from April until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

The Snake River is the heart and soul of Idaho Falls and a top attraction for locals and tourists. The river cuts through downtown, flanked by a paved trail system that runs for five miles on each side. The Idaho Falls River Walk offers joggers, cyclists, and pedestrians unimpeded views of the river and the falls. The River walk is a joint project between the City and the Idaho Falls Rotory Club, which has been a primary contributor to the exapansion and improvement of the River Walk. The River Walk links several city parks, Historic Downtown, and newer developments such as Snake River Landing and Taylor Crossing. Visitors have easy access to downtown restaurants and shops. Every year special events such as the Idaho Falls Duck Race, Farmer's Market, Snake River Roaring Youth Jam and the 4th of July attract thousands of visitors to the River Walk. Free summer concerts take place Tuesday's at the stage on Memorial Drive and Thursday's in the adjoining Snake River Landing.The Idaho Falls River Walk features a friendly atmosphere, where residents and tourists go to relax, exercise, meet friends, picnic, all while taking in views of the Snake River.
